Default jk bellhousing bolt pattern

Does the jk 3.8l v6 share the same bellhousing bolt pattern withe the older mopar v6's, these are the same pattern as the mopar v8's arent they? so does a 5.7l hemi bolt straight up to the jk 6sp bellhousing? do burnsville do a kit of essential swap parts? might be a bit hard to drive in to them for the swap seeing Im in australia, I have done many lexus v8 swaps so wiring/mechanicals wont be a problem but ecu programing would be a prob

I wonder if the stock 6sp is strong enough to handle a mopar V8.... BOR seems to add a new tranny in as part of the swap...

I had an 05 3/4 QC 4x4 Dodge truck I traded for my JK, (a whole other story). In 05 Dodge started offering the Getrag G56 manual 6 speed. This was offered for both the Hemi and the diesel. I believe the 6 speed used in the JK is the same 6 speed that was offered in the Dakota with the 4.7L V-8 option. It may not be an issue of whether the tranny will stand up to the power of the Hemi. The real issue is what you can match to. And to be truthful, I still think the 4.7 V-8 would be an excellent choice for the JK.

I think the reason BOR dont offer the 6sp is that most of their swaps are 6.1l and they would eat most manuals short of a TKO for breakfast and would be a warranty nightmare, for myself the 5.7l will be ok, I wheel reasonably hard but I also have a samurai for the real hardcore stuff, the 4.7 is a viable option too, but the JK is my first new car so I want it just right , I plan to keep it for a reasonably long time, in australia the rubi cost me $51K on road + insurance so if I mod it I wont do half a job, she's a keeper, will keep searching for the bellhousing question, cheers guys

You have to put a new tranny in if you swap to a Hemi. The JK tranny won't bolt up to a Hemi bellhousing.

I havent had a problem on the couple I have done before, one was only a subaru to vw and the other a 3650 tremec to 1uz lexus, you only need 1/4" plate if steel usually and machine an extended spiggot, this is quite common place in conversions, I have found the last of the tjs had the same 6sp with the 4.0l and this has the v8 bolt pattern so worse case I could look for one of them

I welded and bolted a 2010 wrangler 3.8 AUTOMATIC transmission bellhousing to a o5 wrangler 5 speed some fine fitment shaping with mop wheel way better tougher lower gears used a atlas transfer case simple way way better has never cracked or broke in 5 years even rebuild transmission where there’s a will there’s a way I would say have it professionals tig welded if you can’t do it yourself Ii can fit and weld fabricate any combination I would think but that’s what I do for a living it could get pricey paying for aluminum tig welding and fab but know who u have doing it and the quality of there work or you’ll be doing it again and again until it’s rite
