what am I losing by swapping in some very expensive arms?

I like the ride of my JK (3" lift on stock control arms) and Foxx Shox

I want more flex, but my last TJ on long arms was quite rough on the highway...

off road it was perfection. on road... not quite ideal.

my JK rides so much better I don't want to wreck it...
Control arms don't give flex.

Well it seems that metal cloak thinks you are wrong sir. MC claims to give you 28 degrees more flex. See the pic.

Guys, aftermarket arms will absolutely Allow more flex by having less bind. But just because an arm can offer 15 degrees higher misalignment, doesn't mean your jeep is set up to take advantage of it all.

Check out the videos under suspension. They show demos on all three types of control arm bushings. Metal Cloak looks real good. I have about ten close jeep buds I wheel with and I never understood why they love their suspension until I saw this last night.

This is true, shock length and spring drop have to match. But at full flex the MC's are not binding metal to metal.

Where in that link does it say true long arms mess up the ride?

Please re read what I said. MC claims that their control arms with their bushings give a better ride. I said I have read that the long arm that requires the old brackets to be grinded out and new brackets re welded in place "MAY" worsen your ride. I've seen it on this forum and others. The new weld can be off and not set correctly and affecting the ride. I have never have a kit like that so I'm not speaking from experience. Just quoting it from text and word of mouth from guys that have it done on their rigs I wheel with. They love it off road, but say it completely sucks on a highway.
