Default jk performance question

Anyone have any suggestions on combination of exhaust system, intake system and chips or programmers that give good gains for 2010 jk with 3.8 v-6? Could really use the input.

I think as far as exhaust goes there is not much difference in the way of power, they all make it up higher in the rpm band.
Most are interested in how they sound, does it drone, is it ricey sounding. Youtube or vendor sites have enough sound clips to make you dizzy.

I have the afe hightuck exhaust I hated it on the hwy at the 2000 rpm range, droned bad. I ended up cutting a resonator in under the drivers side much better now.

I also have their intake setup as well, I think if I was to do this part over I would just do a K&N drop-in.

For tuning I use the Diablosport its what works for my 11, but many here use superchips.
Also these are fairly close as far as HP and Torque output is concerned.

If I have learned anything from the time I have spent searching the forum (to late on my part) gears seem to be the best bang for the buck.

Nothing really gets much power out of these engines. Search RIPP and you will see that they have supercharges as well as a header system, muffler, and tuner. They are not cheap but as far as I know they are the only company that makes anything worth while.

One thing I would be cautious of is the engineers at Chrysler who built the 3.8 flat out said this engine would live a happy long life as long as you keep the mods to engine at a minimal. Which means air intake, exhaust, and maybe a programmer. Supercharges and high end engine mods will considerably shorten the 3.8's lifespan. In short if I were you I'd invest in gears and an exhaust system and call it a day cause your not gonna see big gains in that engine unless you supercharge it which I would not recommend but I know many guys have done it and like it.

Agreed. We have never been a fan of superchargers. I was mostly mentioning RIPP because of the header system they offer. IMO the header system will give a decent gain to this engine and it will actually be useable. Although the header system is just as much $$ as installing gears.

I just installed a diablosport intune in my 07 yesterday. I have 4.10 gears and 33's and a manual so my gearing is good. The programmer gave me a little more power. The most noticeable was the throttle adjustment to take out the lag. Very happy with the diablosport. Intake and exhaust is next.
