Question JK Windshield Hinges

I have been searching everywhere for Windshield Hinges for our JK to replace the factory plates. I found some at http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-wrangler-jk/windshield-accessories.htm however as you can see they are no longer available. Any suggestions???

Check with Crocker Offroad Performance and I think Realwheels makes overlays but I haven't seen a replacement hinges.

I say give Morris 4x4 a call 9-4 M-F. I have dealt with them before, and they seem real friendly. (Don't work there, just a local shop)

The JK only has a single hinge in the center due to the curved windshield. You won't find hinges for the ends like on the CJ/YJ/TJ that have flat windshields. Basic physics won't allow it.

I believe it has more to do with geometry than physics... I am sure that it can be done; just the pivot point must be the same as the factory center hinge.

I barely made the grade in both subjects so I get them confused. In the up position the corners are in contact but in the folded position they are several inches away from the cowl. Due to the curved windshield the only point in constant contact through the required range of motion is the center. Hence the bigass single hingle in the middle - it was the only way to curve the windshield (to reduce aerodynamic drag for MPG gain) and retain the ability to fold it down. A quick search for pictures of the windshield folded down will show what you're up against. Good luck working that out!

I went to the link and looked at the "hinges" designed for the JK.
The only way I could imagine it would work is if they were not realy hinges, but were fixtures you would pull the "hinge pins" out of. This would be more like a quick disconnect to allow the windshield to fold., thus avoiding having to unbolt the two brackets.

Update: I called the vendor. They said the hinges for the JK have not been developed yet, and the picture shows the hinges for the TJ. They are supposed to be handled by Rampage. Rampage's catalog does not mention windshield hinges for the JK.

I'll make some predictions:
1) Someone will develope a flat windshield for the JK which is easier to fold.
2) Someone will develope a vertical grill and modified hood for the JK so it will look more like previous Jeeps.
These are not my personal wishes, mind you. I am only expressing what I think will come about.

There are pictures in this forum showing the windshield down.
What you heard is my opinion also. And, it is not easy to do.
