jks quicker discos
I have a 2.5 tf coil lift and as of right now stock sport wheels and tires. I want to get some quick discos but I have seen popped tires and also worried about pulling on the break lines. I have 4.5 backspace wheel on order but I have no idea when they will arrive. Are the discos safe to use now and do I need extended break lines? Any input is greatly appreciated!
Yes u can run the discos now, the discos don't cause tire wear or brake line issues it's when you're disconnected that these things COULD happen. After you disco you need to push your sway bar all the way up and zip tie/tie it off in some way so it doesn't fall back down and if you get a lot of downward travel when disconnected you may need brake line brackets or extended lines
I'd be careful with stock wheels with discos. I had my stock wheels and tires from a sahara on mine and just unbolted the bottom of the stock sway bar link to get that extra flex. Well, coming down a trail I had to turn hard and the passenger tire got flexed up into the fender well where it rubbed against the link connected to the sway bar and blew the sidewall.
I did not have a lift, but I don't think it would have mattered. The backspacing just put the tire too close to the frame at flex and it hit. And I did have the sway bar pulled all the way to the top and zip tied. If you're looking to get more flex while waiting for your tires, do what I did and just completely remove the links. Its just 4 bolts total and then no worries!
Good luck!

ran the same set up and now with the aev's run them they aren't going to impact anything, just remember to remove them and hang your swaybar up so it doesnt interfere. I have seen poor judgement impact the sidewalls.. Leaving them connected to the swaybar and disco'd from the axle doesnt make for a nice sound . Ive twisted mine up pretty well with the the 2.5 TF coils and flex arms.. no impacts either wheel combo.
