JKS trac bar brace
A couple months ago I picked up JKS trac bar brace "used" (never installed). I figured it would beef up the mount and just be good insurance. Now the question is, down the road will this have to be removed if I install a lift. I don't plan to go over 2.5 on the lift, if that. Right now, I have replaced the front coils (14s to 17s) and added a 1'' spacer and for the rear added 59s in place of 54s. So, I have a modest "lift" now.
Just trying to get the lowdown so I don't cause grief later on since this thing is to be welded on.

Most lifts come with a trackbar bracket. Some even come with a bracket and adjustable track bar. Check with the lift you are wanting first before you make your decision on installing this.

I ran that exact bracket on my 08 and it was flawless.
I had the early Teraflex 3" lift and ran 33 inch tires.
My lift had the lowering bracket for the track bar on the right frame rail.
So here's the deal. Either you lower your frame mount or you raise your axle mount. Either way you are reducing the arc of the track bar on compression and rebound.
On the first lift I had my right frame side lowering bracket gusseted. If you lengthen the lever arm you increase the force exerted right?
The second lift I got from Teraflex came with a left side axle bracket that raised the mounting point there. I intend to have it welded to the axle soon and I may gusset the right side attach point just for peace of mind.
I am in the build out phase of my new jeep and have budgeted a couple hundred dollars for some gussets and limit straps and a few other touch ups like the front and rear track bar mounts. If you get all your welding done at one visit its cheaper and will take less of your time.

I thought I'd update this thread. I ended up going with a JKS 2.5" lift which came with an axle side trac bar bracket designed to work in conjunction with their brace. Very nice system, very stout. So the trac bar is raised and reinforced..should be bulletproof. Later I plan on adding the Synergy frame side brace...you guys know how it is, the mods are neverending
Thats part of what makes Jeep ownership fun though!

I'm about to pull the trigger and purchase this to beef up that rear bracket. Should you ever decide to beef up your rear drive shaft in the future (and have to rotate your axle up in the process), I think reinforcement of the axle and frame trackbar brackets should be high on the to-do list....
What I really need to find is someone that has made an angled and beefed up axle trackbar bracket. Here's the JKS angled version but unfortunately it's not really beefed up...
...although it looks like this one might work....

So the bracket that came with your lift (Item #: OGS170), is it actually angled at the top like the smaller bracket on the 2nd pic (Item #: OGS160)?
It doesn't look like it from what I can tell on the JKS website and pics....
