I just installed the Springtail m-pac Gen2 on my 2018 JK. It is everything as advertised. Straightforward install and easy to put together.

I can’t wait to use it on our next trip out.

I am planning to double with the 3-D printer to cover the wires where I had to remove the factory cover. If it works out I will post pictures

 

Those tables are great, I've got the gen 1 and really enjoy it. I also bought one of the factory cover pieces and just cut it down to cover up the space you're talking about. If I hadn't got an awesome deal on it ($free) I probably would have gone the route you're going with a custom cover.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Springtail Solutions MPAC tailgate table. It arrived on a Friday just before my 4x4 club outing and I installed in about 20 min. including opening the package and reading the directions 1st. Directions are clear and there is also a Youtube video to clear up any questions. One thing to pay attention to is to NOT overtighten the plastic blind insert as the instructions say. I stripped one out, but the order came with extra so no biggie.

Went off-roading through some rock gardens and a couple of waterfalls. Did not hear a rattle out of it.

So much nicer to have the table versus eating out of the gate, off of the bumper or on the ground. My wife and I feel a little more civilized. Now we just need some chairs.

Closed and still useful as a MOLLE panel. Just need to attach more stuff to it.
