Just ordered new shoes
The JK is finally getting new shoes. I just ordered a set of 265/75R16 Pro Comp Xtreme ATs.
4 wheel parts is having their buy 3 get one free until midnight tonight so I had to jump on it. That and they FINALLY came out with that tire in my size.
And, THEY ARE IN STOCK!

They just called me back and mine will be in on Teusday. Sucks to be me but Teusday is also when I leave to California to play Army for 3 1/2 weeks.
Guess they'll be waitin for me when I get back.

So I am finally back from playing Army. Great feeling since it was my last rodeo. Am officially RETIRED now after 22 years.

Back on topic.
So the JK now has new shoes, but not the ones I ordered. While I was gone, the wife takes the JK to get the new shoes put on and they tell her they won't mount the 265/75r16 ProComp Extreme ATs on my Jeep because they are a load range E tire and it's against company policy to mount a load range E tire on such a lite vehicle. Needless to say, that kinda ticked me off since that was never mentioned when I ordered the tires or when the local 4wp called to tell me they had the order.
So here I was in Mexifornia trying to figure out what to do while my wife is here in El Paso trying to get me hooked up. (Have I mentioned yet that I have a great wife?)
So she ends up ordering a set of 285/75r16 ProComp Mud Terrains.
Gets them put on the Jeep, and drove out to pick me up when my annual training was over.
So the Jeep is sportin new rubber, just not what I had ordered. (BTW, the guys at the local 4wp had asked my wife why I wanted the xtreme at's instead of something more aggressive like the MT and she tells them I was trying to be sensible, which is odd for me btw)
So she now also says I need to lift the Jeep since we get rubbing on the swaybar.
(Did I mention I have a great wife yet?)
So there we are in Pismo Beach staying at the Sea Venture Resort (i do recommend this place) and needless to say did try the new shoes out on the sand. These tires do as expected in the sand but u get nice flotation when aired down, so no problems, no stucks, nada. Just good fun.
BTW, have I mentioned I have a GREAT wife?
