Thumbs up Just a Quick Question?

Was reading another thread about the underpowered JK, and then I thought(as one of the engines listed in Chryslers Lineup) would the 3.5 high output bolt into the jk and how far off is the engine managemnet. Not sure what one would cost compared to the Hemi conversion. Just wanted to hear anyones thought on the subject. Thanks

No ones thoughts or opinions? Oh well, I'll just have to ask friends at the dealer. Thanks anyways

The only engine change I have thought about would be going with a V8, but I'm really getting used to the V6 now I have added; cat back exhaust, E3 plugs, AEM CAI & Superchips programmer - much more driveable with better throttle response now.

Why not just buy the RIPP supercharger? It'll cost you less and be way easier to do.

I used to have a 300M with that 3.5 HO engine. Put out 255 HP and ~ 250 lbs torque. The 300M weighed 3700 lbs. Also had the 4 speed auto. Was pretty fun/fast car, but it lost a lot of HP to the wheels due to the tranny. They put the same engine in the Pacifica which weighed a lot more (~4K lbs)...I heard that thing was a dog because of the weight. I suspect Jeep went with the engine they did for a reason

I'm sure you'll need to fabricate some mounting brackets, and I doubt the computer stuff is the same so that will be custom as well. If you are going to the trouble of an engine swap why not go to a hemi and have aftermarket support?

Thanks. Like I said its just a thought. Sometimes cheaping out cost more in the long run.
