Default just wondering

I am going to change my wheels and tires to 285x70 R17. My question is if i up size my wheels and tires will i also have to upgrade my brakes as well? Is it a good idea to do so?

Upgrade of brakes is good idea always. But I think,Jk has good brakes and difference between a stock size (255/70x17) and then a bigger (285/70x17) I didn´t notice.

If you put big enough tires on, you won't be able to get going fast enough to worry about braking
