Default K&N 63 serise install problems

has anybody on here put one of the these things on before, from what i have been reading the hardest part was the temp sensor but it didnt give me any trouble at all, i am hung up on step 10 in the installation instructions, your suppose to remove the front engine bolt but i cant get it off, its in a terrible place... help me please!!!

Your going to have to put a 3/8 in ratchet in the belt tensioner and make it to wherer there is some give in the belt. The pulley that is near the bolt you are trying to take out is where you need to pull the belt off that pulley a little not all the way. It opens some room up for you to get a socket on that bolt. Make sure to use a short socket with an extension.

do i really need that support mount or can i just skip that step entirely.

If you don't use the support the intake is going to rattle around and if you hit a bump to hard your filter could get knocked off. You could take the belt completely off if you need more room. Just a thought.

i got ya and i aint about to take the belt cause i ll never get it back on..

Cruiser the belt goes off and on REALLY easy, 3/8 ratchet in the hole of the tensioner pulley like in my pic here, its a spring loaded pulley put tension on it the opposite way and you can slide the belt off, and then you can slide it back on

here is pic of how the belt runs, best thing to do is just take it off the idler pulley which is the small black pulley all by itself kinda in the middle just below the alternator

when i put mine on and took it off i never loosened the belt at all. The blot got alittle stuck but i coaxed it out.
