Should i be concerned and put stock airbox in? Or are they both carrying same risk of hydrolock ? Im just scared, about screwing up my ballasts as well...

I would put the stock air box back in. Your ballasts are fine. Mine fijord water all the time and mine are mounted right behind the grill.

I'm gonna be down your way the last week in may. I own a house in zephyrhills. Can't wait for warm weather and sun.

Thank you for the response, I heard the stock airbox is just as bad, but is it worth replacing the intake with stock airbox just for the mud run? lol. how risky is it running a kn intake when mudding? does anyone do this?

Get a snorkel. The problem with the stock box or CAI is balancing speed and not getting stuck in the mud/water to reduce splash back in the intake. A snorkel and extended breathers helps a lot.
