Default KC lights problem

I have an older pair of KC lights that I installed on my 08 jk. When I turned them on the wire from the relay to the battery got very hot and started to smoke after about a minute or so. I immediately turned them off. This is what I used to install them: 16 gauge wire for all wiring including the battery power. I used a 30 amp fuse for the battery power. So I ran 2 pos from lights into one and installed this wire to relay post 87. I ran the 2 neg wires from lights into one and grounded it. Ran wire from relay 86 to switch post “lights”. Ran wire from relay 85 to ground. Ran wire from gd post on switch to ground and wire from power post on switch to power wire on cig lighter. Lastly ran wire from post 30 thru fuse to positive post on battery. Where did I go wrong?

Figured it out…the wire to battery was not making good contact with battery. However I decided gonna sell KC’s and get some cheap Amber leds.
