Default Keep getting wrong parts

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or just me. I did a re gear on my 2012 a few months back, only did the rear. When I got everything apart I realized the master over haul set was completely wrong, including no ring gear bolts. Then today I just started on the front diff, got it all apart...installed ring gear and bearings on carrier. Started checking back lash and went to make adjustments and realized the shims in the kit are the ones for between the carrier and bearing, not between the bearings and diff housings. So again I have to try and order another, have the jeep down until they come in, and hopefully their right. I don't want to put the shims between the carrier and bearing because that's not how they are from factory, so I don't want to have any issues. I ordered the front and rear master over haul kits from two different reputable 4x4 websites and from two different manufacturers. Anyone else have issues? Is it maybe because its still a new model year and the parts aren't sorted out yet? Driving me crazy having to have the jeep down for wrong parts.

Dude that sucks bad. That's why I know someone who works at a tranny shop. If I get into a ham I can bribe him with beer and he can get parts if I need them at distributor prices.

I actually work at a transmission shop haha. I figured I would order the kit online because the dealer sells everything in the master kits individually and it ends up costing more. We dont really have any aftermarket/performance accounts with anyone, just transmission rebuilding part suppliers. So jeep is up on the lift until Monday, then have to push it out and can't get ahold of the parts supplier until Monday anyways, then have to wait for new stuff to be shipped. So looks like the jeep might be down until next weekend unless I want to do a re gear after 5pm and possibly stay half the night lol.

It seems like everytime I walk into my local 4 wp store somebody's always there complaining about wrong parts.. Never had a problem and I use them cause I like the old fashion thing of going in and ordering it and I make sure on the receipt however I also use quadratec and have had pleasant expierences with customer service

Yeah I think it's just my luck. Seems like whenever an auto tech works on their own vehicle, something goes wrong lol. The kit for the rear diff was the right part number on the box, just had all the wrong parts inside. Seems like same issue on the front as well. Not about to reinstall the old carrier/ring gear and pinion just to pull it all apart again in a week or so lol. Well thanks for your feedback.

I've ordered a few gear and master install kits from Northridge over the years.. Always had the best prices, great delivery and since most of the folks are wheelers, know the parts and understand our frustration from jacked up service..

They make ya feel like a family member or a good friend..

Last time I ordered something from them it was actually a master install kit for the front end.. I'm reasonably certain I was greeted by name when they answered the phone (caller ID and that stuff), I told the guy what I wanted, he got the CC# and said he'd get it on the way to me that afternoon, confirmed my address without asking me for it and all was groovy.. I actually had the parts in hand before they emailed the invoice.. (one day ground delivery from to me from the KY warehouse)..

I got hooked on Northridge from a friend of mine that used to live up there on the coast nearby.. About 5 of us were driving our junk to Moab from Memphis and somewhere around Farmington, MN one of his control arm joints gave up the ghost.. He had one with him so we tore into it in the parking lot of a Sonic while we had lunch. Back on the road in under 30 minutes.. He decided he'd see if he could get another joint bushing sent to the hotel in Moab and go on and replace it's mate on the other side of the Jeep to be safe. Next fuel stop he's on the phone with Dave and is having one overnighted to the hotel. About 7pm that evening as we are pulling into Moab he gets a call from Dave, saying he screwed up.. There's no such thing as overnight service to Moab and when the shipping bill was created it defaulted back to standard ground (10 days) and he didn't catch it until after the order was picked up.. He told him he'd get another one on the way the next day for 2-day delivery and he'd have it by Wed.. Sure enough Wed morning at 8am as we're about to leave for breakfast a FedEx truck pulls up with the bushings..

So yeah.. Give Northridge a chance and see how they treat you..

Frustrating as hell I know but you have to triple check your parts BEFORE you tear apart your rig.

All shops and manufacturers screw up from time to time.

Yeah I did triple check, everything looked correct, was hard to notice the shims where wrong before going to set back lash.
