Default Keeping hood down in wind?

Anyone know of any ways to keep the hood on my jk unlimited securely down while driving in the wind or when passing big rigs? Will the replacement polyurethane hood latches do the trick?

I removed the spring under the hood next to the latch and, so far, it appears to have fixed the issue.

Not to hyjack, but is there any reason why removing the spring is a bad idea? (obviously, would need to always keep in mind to be careful while closing hood)

What part number for $9? When I went to my local dealer I asked for the 2009 parts and the clerk said $50 FOR EACH?!?! Can you give me a part number so I can go in there better armed? Thanks.

take out the spring,I used to have a lot of hood lift, took out the spring, now no problem, still have stock latches, just now with out the spring you have to lift up the hood to get at inner latch, cost nothing other than about 3 minutes of my time

x2 Just remove the hood spring, it takes 2 minutes and fixes the problem great! and really I have thought if that could do any damage to the vehicle, but honestly, I can't even think of any possibilities unless you just slammed the hood down lol

A zip tie around the rubber will also do the trick. Thread the zip tie under the upper and then the lower latch mounts from end to end around the rubber strap. Do not tighten yet. Latch the hood down then snug up the zip tie. The zip tie will allow you to latch and unlatch the hood but will not let the straps stretch any longer then that. If you tighten the zip tie before latching the hood, the strap will not stretch enough to let you latch the hood.
