Kilby On Board Air System
I was on a 3 day trip in Canyon de Chelly on the Navajo Res. in Northern AZ. One of the group had an engine driven air compressor system put out by Kilby. This is the slickest operation I have ever seen. He was airing up mattresses, tires and blowing dust off his camp. Aired up my 35's for me in less than a min. per tire. Can run air tools, lockers anything you can dream of. They're expensive, but incre4dible. Does anybody have experience with this system? Are there any drawbacks other than cost?
The only drawback I see is cost. I have a friend with a CJ7 and he converted an AC compressor and plumbed it which was much cheaper. He made a 3 inch tube front winch bumper and sealed it so it is used as an air tank. He can run air tools and air up just about anything.
I just installed the Kilby OBA on my JK this last weekend. All of the parts are off the shelf, except for the 4 mounting brackets. Kilby was looking like they were going to be closing up shop, but their website says now that that it is a change of ownership.
It is a very well made setup with quality parts. I would recommend it to anyone. Although the instructions suck.

I think it's the slickest operation I've seen to date. I need to save a few bucks, but it will definitely be my next mod. Let me know how you like it after you've had it a while. Is your JK still under warranty. My dealer said some dealerships or Chrysler may negate problems with an alternator,etc..
