Default King or Fox?

I currently have the 4" suspension lift from Rough County and its def not meeting my needs. Im looking to salvage as much as the lift as possible but im looking for a better ride on and off the road. Will replacing my shocks with king of fox shocks better my ride? if so which would be the better, or should i look at getting a whole new kit.

Shocks with help a little bit, but I see no point into dumping $500-$700 into shocks for a lift where the springs are too soft and it rides like crap.

i have a four inch tera flex lift. i had rancho 9000 shocks on it and i hated the ride. it was ok on road but off road it really didn't perform the way i wanted it to.

i switched to Fox shocks w/adjustable compression and the improvement was tremendous. i still am not happy with the same road conditions that i was not happy with before but , the improvement makes it much more acceptable.

I fully agree. Besides as great as both of those shocks are, they are designed for performance not a plush ride.

The main problem with your RC kit are the coils so you are better off with a new lift kit.

Also, there are several RC owners that have requested and received a set of the linear rate coils which are supposed to improve the ride.

The ride is really stiff. which is "ok" on the road but when i go off road or on a really bumpy road i feel like its putting a lot of stress on my steering. I mean i feel every little crack in the road. Im honestly scared to take my jeep wheeling due to the damage i might cause my steering. ill be the first to admit this Rough Country lift is a POS and im willing to put money into it. i just want to make sure i dont make the same mistake twice.

I have a dumb question, are you airing down to around 15psi? I know with 20's it will be more rough of a ride, but airing down will help A LOT. I have Fox resv on the way, for a month now , I went with them because 4wheel parts can get them valved from Pro Comp for the JK around 7-800 dollars. Kings were over 1200 valved from EVO.
