Yes dunny is right, coil rates, the weight of your vehicle, sway bar rates, and the type of wheeling you do will all factor in to the overall ride of your jeep. If it is not set up correctly it does not matter what brand of shock you are running.

I am not trying to be mean to you but reading peoples opinoins is not research. Learning how things work and making educated decisions based on fact will go a long way to properly building your jeep. These forums are great for getting 5 different answers when you ask between two different things. Most only know one product they have used and will typically reccommend it to justify their purchase of said product. Many just regurgitate comments others have posted with no actual knowledge of said products.

I try very hard not to reccommend products and encourage people to learn, in the end you will be better off with an education then a bunch of opinions.
No i appreciate what you are telling me, you obviously have a ton of knowledge. Is there anywhere you can direct me to read and learn for myself cause i promise you i want to learn and I'm trying just hard to find the right sources to read and understand what they are talking about

Manufacturers websites generally have a pretty good amount of information once you get thru all the marketing terms and stuff. The coil over bible is a good read, someone wrote a thread called "a simple guide to shocks" that was done to help new people learn how shocks work. You can find these things with a simple google search. I would also encourage you to read the "stickies" that all the forums have that are permanently listed at the top of most JK modded or tech forums.

Good luck with the build, and ask a lot of questions.

Again Thank you Dirtman, you've helped me a lot tonight. I will do more research and base the rest of my build on pure info and not opinions just realized how much i was depending on others opinions.

Just a quick question have you owned kings 2.5 adjustable or fox resi?
And you are correct I didn't have much experience with shocks or suspension for that matter but educating yourself about it helps make a better decision on purchasing such an expensive shock. And based on my experience with the shocks I have I can definitely recommend them.
And yes the combo I have with my king shocks and RK coils to me is the best I could have done the way it performs together makes your jeep ride like a whole new beast!

I have never ran the 2.5 king adjustables or fox res. What does that have to do with it?

No need to get so defensive just curious if you had ran them before. Gees!!!
You might know a lot about this but one thing for sure the way come across is kinda harsh.
Me in the other hand have ran kings for about a year now and I know where my money went every time I drive my jeep on and offroad. Nothing wrong with asking other forum members for input and advice on their experience with the product he is interested in getting.

I was not being definsive I was just asking a question. You asked about 2 specific shocks out of hundreds that are available and I gave you an honest answer.

Again what difference does it make?
