i love my 35" KM2 not to noisy great in a trail i know you cant go wrong with those but like everyone said there both good tires

 

I have run both. Used up MTRs then went with km2s on same rig.

Road Noise KM2 wins
Rock Crawling MTR wins (sidewall is flexy and strong)
Mud km2
Rolling resistance the KM2 is better
Price km2
Floatation goes to km2 also.

Both are great tires but I buy km2s now.

 

well myself haven't ran the KM2's. But I do have the MTR's and I would go with them. They're awesome. Go with those.

 

how many miles are people getting out of both tires would be one of my questions?

 

If you have a heavier JK the MTRs likely aren't going to be the right tires for you based on their Service Description rating for 35s. Using the 111 Load Index, a factor for plus size tires and the Chrysler placard data for tire load, if you have over a 4500lb JK (curb weight) the MTRs are beyond their service description.

The 35" KM2s would be a much better choice for a heavier JK, with a load index of 119. So if you have bumpers, rails a winch and other accessories that can quickly boost your curb weight to over 5,000lbs, the KM2s are going to be a better fit that you won't need to wait a few weeks for.

 

i think they are both good tire's..great looks and traction...my self, i would go with the km2's..

 

There are numerous good threads on both these tires and there is even a head-to-head to poll.

4WD Mag even tested both of as part of a 5 tire test in very heavy, deep mud and the MTR edged out the KM2 for the WORST of all 5.

BTW the same mag just ran the same test for another 5 tires including the Toyos and Mud Grapplers (they were categorized to be all show, no go) and the winner was the MTZ.

 

I just got my 37" km2 in. I wanted the mtr because they were about $20 a tire cheaper. The guy at discount tire called his rep at Goodyear and he said the mtr was going back into production this past Monday. If they made enough tires to fill all the back orders then they would be available in 3 weeks. I couldn't wait that long. Lift will be in tomorrow so I should be rolling on my 37" km2 by the weekend.

 

I am running a set of 37s MTR/K, I think they are pretty good tires. The noise on the street is acceptable, and very nice traction as well.

 

This is why I went with KM2s. The folks at my 4x4 shop said some rubber plant went under and it's affecting all tires. He just happened to have 23 KM2s so I went with that.
