Default KO2 vs duratrac

Duratrac fanboys stay out unless you've owned both. I already know the duratrac is a great tire my question is if the KO2 is equally good or better. Next duty station is alaska so snow matters. So mainly I want to hear about snow experience. Thanks in advance.

I don't know anyone has had KO2 in interesting sizes long enough to have a great compare yet.
someone in https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-s...-e-out-318286/ might have had them?
A lot of stores just got their demo tires in, and a lot of the sizes aren't available yet.

I have duratracs and saw the KO2s a few weeks ago, and they look good and weight seems comparable for the size.
The KO2 sidewall might be better but that's me just visual/poking and not a real test.

I will likely move to them when they are available in 37s on 17 which will be when my duratracs will be due for a change... the duratracs peak on size at 315/70 on 17s.

Yeah I'm on 37 Km2s now and love them but they just aren't even a little safe in winter. So with the kids I want something that will at least make an effort to stop. Duratracs are too small so my alternative to the ko2s will probably be to just get stud able 37s.

Cooper ST MAX are available in 37's! Very similar to Duramax.

Not really interested in the st max unless they perform better than duratracs. Duramax? Did you meant duratrac?

There's a guy on here that was running 35" KOs and switched to the 37" KO2s. Looks like they measured out to 35" and some change after mounted. Just FYI.

I meant Duratrac. I thought you wanted 37's which Duratrac's are not available. The Cooper's tread is very similar to the Duratrac's; snow rated and have very tough sidewalls compared to Duratrac's. IPhone spelling screws my typing!

Anyone interested in Duratracs should just go for the Cooper ST Maxx. Just as aggressive, better sidewall strength, AND way cheaper. For an MT, i'll not own another type except Mastercraft MXT's. 10K on them and they don't look like they've been on the jeep for a week. 1200 installed. Quiet on the road, and as aggressive as Nitto Trail grapplers.

Check out the Exo grappler it has a snowflake ratting and looks really good! Also you can add studs if needed.

I like that the duratrac is studable. Also yes I want a 37" because they're at least 35" tall. Snowflake rating isn't really a good enough indicator since the original ko has them and the duratrac will beat them in the winter. Are the st max equal to the duratrac is snow? I would like to hear from people who have used both... Don't care about offroad performance since they're all going to be good and sidewall strength is mostly a load of shit since most things that will puncture one mud tire will puncture another.

Thanks for the input.
