hands down, i would go with the procomp xtreme at's. they are by far the most agressive at i have seen (practically an mt), have super sticky rubber and are pretty damn quite too

x2, I have them on my truck and I love them! Just make sure you rotate them every 3K or so. They tend to cup sooner then most ATs because of the size of the lugs.

I really wanted the Xtreme AT's, but after talking to a guy at my local tire shop (who sells Pro Comp, BFG, Cooper, etc), he suggested the Cooper S/Ts. He said they're better on gravel, and they're also M+S rated (if that applies... it does for me). They also look pretty agressive.

Between the 2 options you gave though, I'd go with the PCs. I still love them.

Smile Not to disagree with WOL... but

I've got the Kuhmos -- KL71 35 1250 r18 -- and they rock. For a MT, they don't make hardly any noise on the freeway, and you don't really feel them except under maybe 3mph. I had the procomps on my TJ, and I couldn't make the same claims.

As for off-road, at least what you can find here in the PacNW, I'd say they are pretty comparable. If you're looking at Moab, my comments may not apply as I've never been, but for Mud, Gravel, Snow, rain, light rocks, these are as good as any tire I've had mounted (except maybe the Destination MTs -- but they don't make those bigger than 33").

I can't speak for wear yet on the Kuhmos, as I only have about 9K on them, but so far wear seems minimal. I'd say they are wearing better than the ProComps I had, but then my procomps chunked pretty bad -- I had to replace two of them with less than 10k miles because of chunked/broken lugs.

As for looks, I think they look mean -- strike that -- really mean. I get compliments on them all the time. But then feel free to judge for yourself:

I will for the record add that I am nowhere near the off road monster that WOL is, but for my 70% freeway/30% off road driving, these tires have been fantastic. I would definitely buy them again and again. They have taken me anywhere I wanted to go, and the only times I've been stuck (6' snow drift), I don't think different tires would have made much of a difference.

:Edit: I just reread WOL's post and saw that he was talking about ATs... I have no experience with those, I ran MTs on my TJ. :End Edit:

Good luck with whatever choice you make... I think either tire is worthy.

The Kumhos look cool but I remember reading a report in one of the mags that said they don't flex very well due to the tight center lugs.

I have never had Kumhos so can't tell you anything about them but can tell you I have been very happy with the several different sets of Pro Comps I have had in the past though I have never run the extreme at's. I wanted to but they don't come in very many sizes and didn't have the size I wanted when I made my last tire purchase so I went with the regular MT's. Very happy with em.
