Default Leaky shock/ shock replacement questions

I took my JK in for a oil change (no where to do it myself in Norther VA). I was told that one of my shocks was leaking. I have yet to verify, but assuming this is true, can I take this opportunity and replace all 4 shocks and make my ride smoother? I have done a bit of research on here, but I can't find a great answer. Obviously, people on here are partial to bilstein 5100s, but I am open to any suggestions.

Background: 2009 2door JK Sahara with 2.5 lift (no idea brand, exact size, or any other details) I bought this used last summer and it didn't come with any info on the suspension.

Every time I try to add pictures it fails. Can a mod help me with this?

I would actually love any insight or information ANYONE can give me about the lift and/or suspension. Thank you!

Do you have the shock extensions on your shocks? If so, it might be a good time to up grade. Welcome to the forum.

I'm not too sure. I will have to double check that tomorrow. Do you know if I have to post a certain number of times before I can add pictures? It might help describe my situation a little better.

Thanks for the welcome. Been lurking for a while, but it is time to start posting.

Yes the 5100's are very nice. Excellent ride and still affordable. My last set of shocks were the 5100's and they were every bit as good as everyone says. I moved up to Fox remote res shocks and they're even nicer, stiffer on road, they really shine off road, but twice the cost of the 5100's

For posting pictures the site has a size limitation. Your camera might have taken pictures that have a large file. If you are using your phone for the picture you might be able to adjust the size before you take the picture. If you are using a camera you might be able to do the same thing but you also might need to use a picture editing program to make it smaller.

Back to the original question now. The 5100's are excellent and hard to beat for the price. If you want a really nice ride you might want to step up to something like a Fox Remote Res shock. It all really depends on what ride quality you want, what type of wheeling you do, and on your budget.
