A while back I saw a post about superbrightleds.com and I ordered the dome light for a $2.79 (hey, can't lose right?) ... I installed them and they're mega bright, but one thing hung me up ... as you see in the photo (no flash) it's very dim when the doors are shut, and even when the engine is off, or even during a 20 minute ride.

Anyone else get this or do I have a short somewhere that I'll never be able to find since the power is basically immeasurable?

Well I've never installed LEDs in the jk but in my 350Z I put them in and they did the same thing. It's that the LEDs require very little voltage to run so the tiny bit of voltage in the dome light keeps them on just a tad. My TJ however has no voltage going through it when the jeep is off. It never bothered me though.
