LED tail light conversion
So I got sick of smashing my 259.00 fancy LED tree finders and crushing my license plate. I decided to go with flush mount round LEDs and move the plate. I used 1/8 inch 6061-T6 plate, figured out the contour...ugh not easy... and mounted the 4" round LEDs.
Took the same plate and made a 25.00 vent cover as opposed to paying some other company $100.00 for one. This took all of 30 minutes. Mounted my plate there for now...
I am working on finishing up my bumper design with tire carrier and will be making a license plate mount for the T-handle on my spare. LED third brake light will be there as well.
If you are in or around Va Beach and you would like a set let me know. I can build and ship as well.

Looking good chaotic, don't forget reflectors for the side/ rear. VA state inspections require them. Are you planning on integrating a reverse light in the plate or adding some under the rear crossmember?
I will be installing reverse lights in my bumper. But reverse lights can be mounted anywhere on the plate. My idea was to have 2 small single LED white lights next to each other. This would give the light beam 2 angles and widen the field of view due to the contour of the rear tub on the JK. We'll see if I pass inspection in June. Usually the guy doing it is too busy checking out how cool things are to worry about the fact my tires stick out past my flares and my airbag light won't go out.
