Default Level Kit and Wheel Spacer Question?

Hi All, noob here...and yes another leveling kit question. I did some searching but didn't find what I was looking for.

I want to buy a leveling kit for my 2011 JKU Sahara to gain a little more height to eventually get 33s under it. I hunt and fish and am on old farm and logging roads quite often that can get pretty rutted up, so I would like a little more ground clearance. I am going to wait until I need new tires to buy the 33s, but until then I want to have at least the level stance. I do not plan on rock crawling.

I've narrowed it down to the TeraFlex JK Leveling Kit w/ sway bars for +2" up front and +1" in back. (1) Will I need wheel spacers to run my stock 18" wheels with their current 255/70-18 AT tires on them? (2) Will I need the wheel spacers if I keep my stock 18" wheels and get 275/70-18 tires on them? (3) What size spacers, 1.5", 1.25", other, if I do need them?

Thanks!
Ben

Hey Ben,

Sounds like you have things narrowed down pretty well. The Teraflex Leveling Kit is a very popular kit. It will come with longer sway bar links for the front of your rig and you can get away without doing anything to the links out back.

You won't need to run spacers with the stock tires and wheels, no matter what lift you go with. Spacers will give you the need backspacing to run larger tires on factory wheels. You can go with a 1.25 Inch Wheel Spacer to make sure you don't have any rubbing issue with the bigger tires.

Let me know if you have any questions! You can always PM me for a quote as well.

Fishrising,

I had the exact setup you are looking into. The TeraFlex Leveling Kit looked great but the wheel spacers made the kit complete. It looked very bold even with the stock wheels. I'd suggest Spidertrax 1.5" Wheel Spacers, made in the USA and you won't have to worry about cutting your wheel studs (1.25 spacers can be too shallow).

Thank you!!!! That's pretty much what I want my black sahara to look like, however it was my wife's for the last several years (we just traded my car in and she got the new car) and she had to have the chrome edition package and premium chrome package on the jeep...not sure if I am going to remove the chrome or not yet...but here it is in stock form:

You HAVE to run spacers with 33"s on stock Sahara wheels or you will rub the front sway bar. IMO the chrome is horrible but to each their own...

I agree...my wife wanted it, or no Jeep. It was her daily driver for the last few years since we bought it, so she got what she wanted. At least I got a Jeep into the family. For what it cost us when purchased, I can't come to take it off...maybe I'll plastidip all the chrome parts????

Anyone plastidip the optional chrome packages yet?
