Default Level with me about 37's

Alright guys,

After reading countless posts about 37's I just want an unbiased no BS review/experience on them.
Do they really tear your shit up or cause that much more of an issue as opposed to 35's?
I'm not talking fuel economy loss or need for gears etc...I'm looking for issues with BJ's and other front end components.

About to drop the hammer on some and just want to hear what the guys who have or had them REALLY think.

Thanks guys!

So many variables. The given is that your BJs won't last long (and depending on the condition of your stock BJs, they may not be able to handle the mass at all).

At the very least, have c-gussets. Even a well hit pothole can bend them. Lastly, if you do wheel it, truss or sleeve it and eliminate the worry of bending the housing. Cheap insurance.

After that, if something breaks, it breaks. More likely an axle shaft than anything. Stay away from something like RCVs, which might be stronger than the R&P in the D30.

I've seen guys not have issues and I've watched two buddies sell their D30s in the last month to guys who busted theirs. So, it does happen, but usually the result of not adding the cheap insurance of gussets and sleeves.

You know how you wheel, so only you can determine how likely something like you R&P is to fail.

I will say that I was pretty surprised moving from 35s to 37s in terms of how much more mass and stress there is and I have light MTR/Ks. For me, I tamed the beasts with a beefy Synergy tie rod and BJs. I'm now adding a front track bar/sector shaft brace. Also gusseting the rear frame side track bar mount. Shortly, I'll be adding a beefy drag link with one ton ends. I run a stock steering stabilizer (that is probably completely shot), but with everything dialed in right, I have no need for something more heavy duty.

^^bingo- key info here.

37's on your daily driver are different than 37's on your 100 mile commuter and 52 weekend/ year toy.

Be honest with yourself here and don't try to inflate yourself if you don't actually play as often and hard as you describe- it'll change things drastically.

you will probably be fin then, for added security you could do gussets, sleeves or truss if youd like. As said bjs will wear no matter what, Id get those for sure. Then you can probably just upgrade as something may wear if needed.

Seems to me hes just trying to help out and make sure you dont overpay if you dont offroad anything crazy. Everyones definition off offroading varies and only you can say how much you will be offroading. It is the internet we are dealing with here...

No, I'm trying to help you avoid being sucked into "needing" full float d80's, a 4 link, etc just to be 'safe'.

There are a bunch of people here who just buy because someone says 'do it'. I'd like you to avoid buying what you don't need. Browsing the for sale threads will lead you to a lot of people who were going 'off-roading' every weekend and 'needed' d80's but then the jeep was never off road at all.

It's to be helpful, sorry if it came off poorly.
