Default Leveling Kit - TF vs. RC

Hey -

Looking to put on some 33's this week and trying to pick a path for a simple lift. No plans to do a whole lot of off-roading, this is more of a looks thing than performance.

09 JK 4 door Unlimited -

Looking at the RC 2.5" lift vs. the TF Leveling kit for around the same price.

Any opinions on why to go with one or the other?

TF has the front sway bar links, the RC has the shock relocation brackets?

Help!

Thanks,

Nick

The RC kit is a budget boost, not a leveling kit. It will raise front and back 2.5 inches...you will most likely need to center your axles and get new bumpstops and brakeline extensions with this.

The TeraFlex is a true leveling kit, it will remove the rake and you should need nothing more with it. Joe from TeraFlex is amember here and provides outstanding customer service on all of thier parts....To me that is worth allot.

Thanks for the quick reply!

In the short term, I might want to add some new wheels/tires and maybe the RR Light Mount Modular XHD Front Bumper. I will try to get ahold of Joe and see what he thinks. I don't want to drop $500 on a full lift kit, and don't need the articuation for wheeling.

You can run 33's with no lift. The leveling kit is a nice addition though, it gives it a great stance.

FWIW, I just now finished installing my levelling kit from Teraflex. I did put 4dr rubi coils under it with 5100 bilsteins, but I gained like 3.5 inches at the front and 2 in the rear.
Installed real easy no porblems and drive great !

some quick calcs and I can fit 33's no problem, should even be ok off road with articulation.

I may just end up with the 32" DuraTrac's - which will keep me in the load range C and give me some more aggressive tread. I am taking the stock tires and throwing them on my F150 so I figured I would upgrade the JK tires while I was at it.

Thinking about the ATX Predators in black 16x8:

I'm running 33s and just had the TF one put on. It is really nice but the front still sags a little because of the Shrockworks bumper. Once I put the matching tire carrier on the back it should level out the rest of the way.

The issue I see with the RC lift is what holds the rear spacers in place? In the TF kit, the rear spacers lock into place, and wont fall down if you droop the axle down.

I put the TF leveling kit on my JK this weekend. 33's would fit easily. TF actually says 34's fit fine. But I think they would rub without dropped bump stops, as my 32's do get close at max flex up front.

I also see you needing to recenter some stuff and get brake line drop brackets with the 2.5". My TF kit is close on brake line length at full droop.

I ended up ordering the TF leveling kit from NorthRidge as well as a XHD bumper with bull bar - great prices and service!

Waiting on the 32" Duratrac's to come into the local shop. The wheels arrived late last week as well

The BEFORE PIX - I hope to have the AFTER pix by Friday!
