Default life lessons...

So being that i've been in the army for over a decade now i thought i should give my silver jeep the military look as well and went with the military stars on the hood and doors. Anyhow went with black vinyl decals over paint because of cost. Well just tackled the project and learned that vinyl sucks. I had so many small bubbles and even took my time with it smoothing it out piece by piece to try to avoid them. Then i tried the needle method to bleed the air holes out. Anyhow after a good part of this beautiful day wasted doing it i realized that they looked awesome from a distance, but the second you got close they were terrible. Needless to say lesson learned. Vinyl not as good as paint. So now i have to price the paint out.

Try using a blow dryer or a eat gun to heat it up and apply/smooth it out... Or do it next time on a really hot day. It may still be cheaper to have a sign/lettering shop apply them for you.....

If your dead set against sticker jobbing it again... Look for some one who could air brush it with a stencil and clear coat it.

Good luck and don't give up! If it were easy everyone would do it.

There is a chemical called rapidtac that is sold by most motorcycle parts distributors. I use it anytime i have to mess with vinyl decals, it works like a charm!
