Default Life with MBRP exhaust.

I was wondering what it is like living with the MBRP exhuast.

Does it still sound good to you?

For those that commute and travel how is the level of sound?
Do you have to talk louder?
Can you still hear music?
Does your wife take another car instead of traveling with you?

I am close to getting one and thanks for your input.

Greg

I've had mine for almost a year now. I liked it from the start and have ZERO complaints. I did try to install it myself but after loosening all the OEM hardware on my JK and taking the muffler down to the CAT I could not get that last clamp (@CAT to exhaust pipe) off. Put the OEM stuff back on and took it to a muffler shop which had to torch that pesky clamp off! Certainly NOT MBRP's fault but if you decide to do this yourself start at the CAT and work back, that way you won't end up like me!

Oh, and the muffler still shines like it was polished!

I've had mine on for about 6 months, I suppose. When I first put it on I had the soft top on and on day one I thought it might be a bit loud for my tastes. However, by the end of that first week I was thoroughly enjoying it.

On the highway I can't hear it at all.

So 6 months later I have the hard top on and I wish it was louder...can't wait to get the soft top back on.

I think all of this means that it's just about perfect. Go for it!

I installed mine last week along with a AEM brute force air intake.

(i dremeled off the stupid clamp :P)

Anyway, at first i thought it was quite loud but noticed a power difference right away. Then, after a couple days, i dont notice it too much, even with the windows down.

Now id say that it isnt bad at all and i love the sound. Like any muffler in this vein, if you hammer down the gas, it can get loud. However, that is short lived and does not bother me at all.

I agree with everyone here. Mellow and sounds good, loud when you want it to be. You wont be disappointed.

x2. The off road exhaust is great and it relocates the muffler forward rather than in the rear. It gets rid of that big ugly thing hanging down in the rear.
