Default Which lift

I think Im finally gonna be able to get a small lift for my JK.. Just two inch spacers for now (so it still fits in the garage, and wont look weird with the stock tires for now).

I think Im down to two... main concern is pricing.

I like the Full Traction JK Wrangler 2 inch Econo Lift from Offroad Evolution with the 5100 Hydro series shocks... - $279.95
- This kit comes with track bar relocation brackets.

Second: Skyjacker 2" Budget Boosts (quadratec) - no track bar brackets
- With Hydro Shocks: $252.99
- With Nitro Shocks: $276.99

So, I guess for the same price I can get the kit w/ brackets and hydro shocks (FT) or a kit with more expensive nitro shocks... but no brackets...

Do the brackets REALLY matter with only 2" of lift? Which shocks will ride better... technically the Jeep is my wifes... we both like going offrooading... but she will get irritated if it has a harsher ride on pavement... are the 5100 hydro shocks from FT rebranded bilsteins - cuz i like those shocks. Will the nitro shocks improve onroad feel or worsen it?

I know I can get nicer shocks for the FT lift.. but for only 2" spacers.. I dont wanna pay $389.

Hey, I can even buy the FT lift w/o shocks for $119 has anyone done this? Can you tell if it limits your flex.. does the ride quality suck?

Thanks everyone.. Im excited to think I may get to finally start modding the JK

I bought the FT BB, and the trackbar relocation bracket was TERRIBLE. It completely messed up the way my JK drove. Unless something has changed with the bracket, DO NOT USE the trackbar relocation bracket. Search around, I've written some detailed postings about my experience with this. I bought my FT kit in the March timeframe.

I'm not sold on the idea that shocks need to be replaced. I have a Rubicon and the shocks are very good. You would get a little more droop with aftermarket shocks, but if you don't need that, then I'd look around and buy a set of used Rubi shocks.

Good luck

I'm in the same position as you. Just trying to figure out which one is best...... or which kit is a no-no.

Ok...

I have it down to two..

I kinda have to make a quick desicion... what does everyone think...

I can get the Skayjacker 2" BB with Nitro shocks for $276 plus $29 shipping...
or... I can get the Rubicon Express 2" with Hydro (cheaper of the the rubicon express shocks) locally for a good price.. normally $350 but I can get is for around $300 delivered to my door...

So.. both kits are about the same price for me... obviously the spacers are gonna be pretty much the same (I would assume)... which shocks would be better.... I need to consider offroad ability.. but I also need to consider on road ride quality (my wife really likes the stock ride quality).

Thing is... I can only get the deal on the RE lift for this good deal for one more day.. so I need to choose.

Based on ur experiencs... what do you think I may be happiest with. I guess it all comes down to the shocks???

I have the RE kit; drives fine & levels the rake as well (1.75" lift in rear, 2.5" in front)...

Did you wheel ur JK before the lift as well - besides the difference in height... do you think it gave you better handling offroad?

How did road manners compare before and after the lift? Is it a stiffer ride? Or pretty much the same as before?

Thanks!!!!

Ask OVERTON Kevin before purchasing Skyjacker lift over Full Traction, that was my 2cents

Sorry, I hadn't wheeled it before the lift; and I did the tires at the same time (33's on 15" rims in place of the factory 32's on 17's). Handling was different, but fine (but I attribute that to a higher center of gravity and the larger sidewalls of my tires). It didn't feel stiffer...
