Please provide some information on what you have (your profile is pretty useless since it's mostly empty), and what you want to do with your Jeep in the future. And, FYI, the best reason to lift a Jeep is to fit tires. Lifts by themselves do more to hurt performance and reliability than help. So, you should also be asking about tires (or telling us what you have).

A good lift will help with drivability. After we put the RK on the Jeep handled a heck of a lot better then it did when it drove off the lot. A cheap lift will make it miserable to drive. Its also the lift the gives you travel and flex.
A body lift really only gives you clearance for bigger tires. If your just wanting a look go for it. If you are looking for performance do a proper lift, springs, shocks, control arms, sway bar links, track bar etc.

A leveling kit and some wheel adapters (or wheels that net out to 5" bs) should be all you need. 3" is way too much for 285 tire.
There is a link in my signature I would encourage you to read as well.

Okay. It does make it easier if the discussion is in one thread, not two or more. And it does get you more accurate answers if you provide the basic information about your Jeep in your profile. Sometimes people pick up on something after looking at your profile that you may not have realized was important.
