Default lift break in question

first drive with RK x factor long arm lift installed today. Fox shox. Felt like a buckboard wagon, jeep was bouncing all over the road. I've only got 10 miles on the lift, when can I expect the lift to soften up? I went with the Fox over the bilstiens because I heard they were "cushier". thoughts?

I had the Fox shocks with my RK and shortly after changed to Bilsteins. Are your springs seated properly?

What are the alignment specs? And is the tire psi appropriate for the size/ply?

I've personally read Fox ride rough.

I've also read there is no "break in" for shocks/springs as per say. Only some lower quality lifts that sag. I don't know from my own experience though. With RK I doubt you'll have that problem though.

Never heard of a "break in" period on a lift. Do they eventually sag? Maybe, but I haven't seen any change after 20k miles. I have the Full Traction for JKU, fox shocks and it actually rides better than the stock set up. Smoother, no lateral movement on washboard roads, etc. My only complaint? Load range e tires. Aside from that, friends are always impressed with the ride. Probably because they were anticipating worse.

I would agree that there really isn't a break-in period on a lift. I would start with checking a couple things.
-First and foremost, tire pressure. If you're running 35" tires and you think you need the usual 35+ psi, you're wrong. You may find, depending on the tires you have that you can probably go as low as 28 and still get a fine wear pattern from a chalk test.
-After that, I'd ask if you have any other accessories added to the Jeep like a winch bumper and winch, rear swing out carrier, or other gear you regularly carry. Most people will install these things and the added weight improves the ride. If you don't have any extra weight, and don't plan on it, then you may want to call RK and ask them if their spring rates with your particular kit take that into consideration. See if they have any softer springs or, as mentioned above, check to make sure your springs are seated properly.

Do you have 2dr?
I installed max travel kit with tere rrd shocks and it is a firm bouncy buck board ride. I was told its due to being a 2dr and too light.

My 2010 2door with bumpers winch and 35's ... The usual weighty add ons, rides amazing with a RK 2.5" max travel with billsteins. When I put the lift on I was going to expect a rough ride due to all the spherical joints used for beef and flex assuming harshness. Could not be more wrong. Love the ride. Always had luck with billstein's on h.d trucks , a suburban , and a s-10.

My 2011 jku rides pretty harsh with bds springs and FOX 2.0 shocks. Granted it is Leiden with bumpers , winch , 6.2 v8 , fenders etc that add sprung weight. On sudden bumps the shocks seem to abruptly slow up travel and lessen stroke throughout. On smooth rolls they feel almost pillow like and dare I say seem leggy on rebound. I may one day swap shocks across the two and see.
