Default Lift help...

Well, I've read the faq, and searched a bit, but I think I still need advice here:

I really have two main questions-

1) How much lift do I really need?
2) What do I need to do to get it (the right way)?

Here's the situation:
I want to run 33s on my 2 dr X without rubbing, and I will be putting on an OR-Fab front stubby w/ stinger, and probably a 8000 range winch. An OR-Fab rear plate steel bumper will be coming later. Jeep is otherwise stock.

How much lift would I need to clear the tires with that bumper/winch combo? I'm thinking 2.5" ought to be enough, but I've never messed with suspensions, so this is all new to me.

What really confuses me is that it seems there are a lot of "incomplete" lift kits out there, and I really don't know exactly what I really need, to be honest.
I'm thinking new coils, but will I need new shocks also for this modest of a lift? New front sway bars? Maybe new rear ones, and put the old rear ones up front? Will I have to screw with the driveshaft(s) (it's an auto, btw)?

Will the TF leveling kit do what I am needing for this, or will it be too light duty for heavy bumpers and start sagging?

Comfroosed as hell.

Thanks,
Jason

It is easy to get confused. Having recently engaged in similar brain damage, I settled on:

OME LD springs, OME Nitrocharger yellow shocks, JKS track bars front and rear, new rear sway bar links, JKS quicker discos, and (this is important) Teraflex lower control arms. I also opted for a T/F steering stabilizer, JKS rear spring retainers, and uprated brake lines, although these last 3 are very optional.

Most people will tell you that these components make a fairly "complete" kit that isn't likely to introduce significant problems. If you go with HD (heavy duty) springs, then you're risking a 3"+ lift, in which case you're likely to need to replace your driveshafts.

For your purposes, a kit like I've outlined above plus perhaps a spacer in front to level out the weight of your bumper would probably be in the ballpark of what you want.

Teraflex makes a comparable kit (2.5" spring/shock kit) and Rock Krawler has a nice equivalent kit, too. Plan on spending in the ballpark of $1,000-1,500 to do a moderate lift "right."

I'd go with the TF 2.5 coil lift, adjustable front trackbar, adj. front lower control arms, and JKS quicker disconnects(front).

You can easily fit 33's with a spacer lift. I would try it out. If it sags install a true coil lift.

Here's our just release "premium plus" 3" suspension system, it's noise and maintance free.

it's everything you need lift your 2 door 3" correctly on a budget. Other than driveshafts which you will eventually need. This kit

Here's the lift, sorry part of it was cut off on my iPhone. I'll get a better one up soon.

X2 Don't bother with a leveling kit if you plan on running aftermarket bumpers and winch.

So is it the spacer material itself that wears out and sags, or do spacer kits eventually sag because the original coil is not upgraded, and is too weak for the added weight?

If it is the spacer that eventually fails, would a metal spacer work?

Gotcha. That's what I figured.
