Default Lift help

I need to know if i can just run a 4" lift with just shocks and springs? And how is the ride with a set up like this? I have a buddy who runs his like this and has no issues and says its great. I am not going to be going crazy off road and i wont need that much flex on my jeep. If i can run it like this what shocks and springs would be good for this? Would i need to re-gear it right away or would i be able to run with stock gears for a while? Or just tell me all that would be needed to change underneath. Thanks.

No you really shouldn't. What size tires are going on that? A lot more involved than shocks and springs at that height. Read these two threads and come back with specific questions

no offense, your buddy is FOS. 4", no control arms or geometry correction? It would be a nightmare on steering. Anything past 2.5" will need geometry correction. For the rest of your inquiry, what are your jeep specs? Year? Motor? Current gearing? Details man, details.
