Lift install first....35's second?
I'm finally getting ready to make some much needed mods to my 2008 JK Unlimited. I want to install the OME LT HD kit and then new 17" MT Sidebiters & 315/70/17 GY Duratracs.
Due to my available funds, I may need to do this in 2 stages and I'm trying to figure out how to go about it or if it's a possibility to split this up.
Can I install the lift and roll around on my stock 18" Sahara wheels and tires for a month or two before getting my new rims and 35's? Are wheel spacers required? I obviously won't be doing anything off pavement until everything is completed.
Or, should, or can I, stuff my new 17" Sidebiters with 4.5" bs on 315/70/17 duratracs under my stock ride and then install the lift? I think I've seen a few of you do this and still have clearance. Again, obvioiusly sticking to flat pavement until the lift is installed.
Thanks for any advice!

personally id say do the lift first...i drove around on my lift with the stock sahara wheels and tires for a month before i got the rubi wheels and tires...although they both are 32" lol. but if you do the lift first you wont have as much wheel and tire to have to lift off and on as your putting on the lift...just a thought
do the lift first. you won't need any other mods. i'm currently running a 2.5" TF coil lift with the stock X 32" wheels. I even took it to superlift this last weekend with no problems.
Mine is the Red Rock one in the front, the red one behind my Jeep has a 3" lift with Duratracs you're talking about.

Why not just buy your lift/tires in two parts and install them both at the same time? It will be tough to let you lift sit at your house until you get your tires but you won't have that goofy "big lift small tire" look IMO.
The way I would avoid it is buy the tires first, that way you have to wait for the lift to put them on.

I lifted mine w/ an OME lift with 32 BFG's and ran some 1.5" spidertrax spacers to push the wheels out until I got my 35's later. It looked fine...
but looked better w/ 35's!
I wouldn't want the rubbing you'd get with 35's and no lift.

I got the flat fenders and wheels at the beginning of the winter. I got the tires and lift a few weeks ago. I just put the lift on and am waiting till I get the fenders on before finally getting the tires on. Also, I got the same tires as you on pro comp 7069 and they are nice
Another benefit to getting one part on at a time is that if there are any wobbles or something is not right, you can pin point where the problem is.
Here is a photo (not mine) of 35 duratracs with no lift. To me, looks real nice
