Default Lift install this weekend. Any tips/advice?

Installing a FT 3" Premium lift this weekend. Thought I'd ask the forum for any "If I knew then what I know now" advice.

Additional tools, tricks, or other equipment that might come in handy?

Disconnect the trackbar first. Change the coils and shocks first. Then change out the upper arms. It'll help control the axle than unbolting everything at once. Place a jack under the axle yoke to rotate the pinion

Finally, Send me a PM if you have any questions. I'll be out wheeling this weekend but I'll answer the PM as promptly as I can.

2dr or 4dr?

loosen all contol arms, remove tranny skid plate, unbolt track bars at the axle,i assume new shocks so you have to remove those, unbolt brakelines from frame and abs sensers from tabs at caliper and possible axle breather hose, have a breaker bar and pry bar, should be good.
if replacing control arms i do that last and i keep a jack under the pinion flange and do lowers first while the stock uppers help hold the axle then do the uppers and fine tune once all are in

When 'almost' done, jack up the body and check your droop to check brake lines are long enuf, even with extenders you may need to un-clip them.
Also if you are adding bigger tires (or not) get it aligned or you will rub off tread quick, mine was off after the lift!

Good luck.

make sure you have all your tools on hand, wrenches and sockets most are metric. Air impact wrench is handy, torque wrench, large bottle of brake fluid - if you install longer brake lines you'll need to bleed them. If you have access to 2 hydraulic jacks, get them. Tall jack stands, I found it handy to do front first then rear. Check your headlight height while stock - I measured mine and taped the spot on the garage door since I knew I didn't have 25' of level ground.

Great advice guys. Thanks. Keep it coming.

This is a 4 door '08 Sahara. Am putting 315/70/17 Duratracs on.
Have an alignment appointment Saturday afternoon. Getting started after work on Friday.

I will make sure to take lots of pics.

Wayoflife has posted some good install articles, worth checking out. Make sure you have a good torque wrench. I used 2/14 ton jack stands to support the frame while I lowered the axle to swap springs. I found that although the jack stands were good they were still a bit short. I stacked them on some bricks and the extra height made lowering the axle enough to fit in 3" springs pretty easy. People often complain that the front springs are a bitch to get in but if you can lower the axle more they go in without any trouble.

Soak all your nuts and bolts with PB blaster the night before to loosen them up.
