Default Lift kit

Looking to put a good 2-3.5 in lift on my 2dr jk and i only have about 500-600 to spend. I dont know if anyone has purchased something in that range and really liked what they got. but if anyone has any knowledge to put me in the right direction id love it. i also dont really want to go the unlimited rubicon route unless its low mileage and free. but everyone seems to be charging for those parts now.

Look into Zone Offroad lifts. You can pick up a 3" kit from them for around that price and from all the research I did before I lifted mine the reviews are consistently better than other lifts in that price range. Just make sure you order with the Nitro shocks. I'm currently running only their coils, (with bilstein shocks) and am happy with them.

Rock Krawler also has their stock mod for around that price, but you will have to make your own bumpstops and brakeline extension brackets yourself (easy easy easy) and you will have to purchase shocks separate.. Which will likely bring the cost up over your budget.

Good luck.

You will get a lot of options mentioned, here is one to look over.
Made in the USA!

Rusty's JK Wrangler 3.25" Basic Kit - JK Wrangler & Rubicon ('07+) - Jeep Suspension Lift Kits - Jeep Suspension

Rusty's 3.25" suspension kit delivers excellent off-road performance at a very reasonable price. It is designed to retain the JK's good on-road manners while adding articulation that delivers reliable performance in the toughest conditions. Designed using 3-D computer modeling and subjected to severe testing in the field, Rusty's 3.25" suspension kit provides the clearance needed for 35 inch tall tires.

This Basic kit includes our replacement front and rear coil springs that are designed to deliver the same ride as the factory but with an emphasis on better off-road capability. The axles are properly centered under the frame with our front and rear adjustable track bars. Unlike most other systems, we don't use wimpy brackets that break or over-stress the factory axle brackets due to additional leverage. A set of Rusty's Hydro shocks provide the on-road ride quality you've come to expect with the off-road performance you desire.

Make no mistake: This kit is a great value!
The quality of the parts used by Rusty's is as good as or better than kits twice the price! At Rusty's, our products have been Trail Tested Tough for over 30 years!

On a 2 door with 3,5" of lift you will need new drive shafts too, so make sure you budget for them. +_ $900 for both.

I was looking into getting a rough country 2.5" coil and shocks lift.. Anybody heard anything about that? Only looking to run 33" tires at the most! Not going big just mostly for looks and some performance!

I have the teraflex 2.5" budget boost with shock extensions. it was $350-$400. It uses your stock shocks and stock springs. Uses new shock extenders so the shocks provide stock ride and feel. And uses coil spacers on top of the coil isolators so the ride is the same.
Great kit! Gave me the lift i needed to clear my 33x12.5 and then some!
Was a long install, but with the help of the project jk write up and some basic know how and muscle...anyone can get it done. with the price.. And the functionality of the kit....id highly recommend it.
Especially since you're not going to be doing any major offroading. You said looks and some performance. teraflex delivers!!

This kit is a good value because you can always add performance shocks later on, but you still get a true lift by going with the coils.

I did it all at once and added the Bilstein 5100s

I would also recommend going with some geometry correction brackets from rough country or AEv. That's the only thing I think TF should have as an option, but alas that would cut into their control arm sales.
