Default Lift Kit

Just bought a new 08 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon and I'm looking to lift my ride 3 to 4 inches. I’ve been reading through the posts and still haven't been able to find something that looks as though it will be 100%. As far as taking it out on a trail it would probably not happen too often though I do want that capability as well as having a smooth ride on the pavement. With money not being a problem what lift would you recommend (keeping in mind I know nothing about lifts). Also... really leaning towards wanting the 4 inch lift... will it require new drive shafts... if so which ones would fit?

Martinsburg, WV.... I was stationed in Sugar Grove, WV. Did lots of wheeling the GWNF. Reddish Knob was one of our favorite rides... Just a trail, no obstacles, but beautiful scenery. That was about 10 years ago and I had a big ol GMC....

As far as lift a lift, you want one with adjustable control arms..and a decent reputation as well as customer service. I recommend David at Northridge. He is a sponsoring vendor to this forum.

Personally, I have a 2dr with the Rubicon Express 3.5" Superflex lift. You can run 35s with no problem. I added a 1" body lift and run 37" tires. My lift rides nice on road (better than stock IMO), but everyone will have nothing but positive things to say about their own lift. As far as installation, did it in my driveway. Instructions were great, took longer than normal because it was kinda cold.

I went with the 3.5 because it did not require new driveshafts...extra money for other stuff I believe 4" and greater require new shafts (at least the front). I am sure some unlimited guys will chime in with the driveshaft requirements. I am still new to the JK scene. I have to admit, I learned everything from searching this site. There is a wealth of knowledge on here. Just do a search on the each individual lift and see what kinda problems ppl are coming across as well as the solutions.. That way you will be able to make an educated decision.

Good luck and welcome to the JK-forum... This is my second home and I am sure it will become yours.

I have a skyjacker kit , I got it because most of my friends have them on there TJ's. I'm very happy with it and would recommended it to others. The only thing I want to change about it is, the swaybar disconnects are the kind that come off completly and I have to listen to them jingle in my truck all day.
