Default Lift Kit gone wrong, advice needed

Hey guys, I recently installed a 2.5 inch rubicon express lift last weekend on my 2013 jku. I used to have 1.75 inch spacers, and after installing the kit, it turns out the lift was for a 2 door, not 4 door. It was his previously that he upgraded quickly, so it was no cost to me, but now I'm lower than before! Do I need to just buy new springs for a 4 door to get the proper height? I'm looking at the OME springs as I've heard good things about them, but I'm not sure what all I need. No rock crawling done on my rig, just off road paths for camping and sight seeing, so I don't want anything extreme. I also already bought and installed bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around, so I won't need to replace those either. I was thinking of buying the whole OME 2 inch kit, but it seems like all it comes with that I should need is the coils themselves, is this the case? I already have the rear track bar relocation bracket installed, but will I need to upgrade to an adjustable front trackbar as well? Is it okay to part together a lift kit like this, or am I better off just buying the whole thing, even though I've got the majority of it?

Reading your post, you seem to have already answered your own question. OME springs are some of the best, throw a Teraflex adjustable front track bar on there and your done!

Sweet, that's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. Now the next thing is why do they sell 2.25 rears, and 2 fronts, shouldn't it be the other way around due to engine weight?

OME is built for Overland Adventure rigs, so they generally have a crap ton of weight in the rear, plus a roof top tent... so i do believe that is why its that way.

Be sure and research the specific OME coil numbers you are getting. They make like 18 different ones for the JK, and even though they all may say 2", you just might get 3-4 inches and a very stiff ride...

Front trackbar is a personal preference. Nice to have, but if that axle being offset to one side doesn't bug you, it can wait.

Do you have some form of caster correction already?

What kind of caster correction would I need, not sure what part that would be. From looking at the OME lift kit, I think I have everything included except the springs. So if it's something beyond that, I don't believe I have that yet.

I was looking on quadratec and it looks like they only advertise 2, and I was leaning towards heavy duty since I usually drive with a pretty loaded rig, have 35" spare, hard top, steel bumpers and not quite done adding stuff. any suggestions on which set? Thanks for all your quick responses folks!

With 2.5 and under caster correction is not a 100% nessary but it really depends on the persons prefrence. It may feel more flighty after the lift with no caster correction. I wanted mine at stock numbers so i went with drop brackets. Some buy adjustable control arms and other just use camber bolts. Cant help with the springs. i went with AEV so i dont know much of the OME stuff.

i went ahead and bought the AEV geometry correction brackets (for caster), adjustable front trackbar (probably need it at one point anyway), and the heavy duty springs (rather be more prepared than needed, than not prepared enough). I've also got extended SS break lines, and shocks for a 3.5 inch lift. Hopefully everything works out. Spent about $600 more than I wanted to, but that's jeep life I guess! Hopefully that's all I need for now, but if there's anything else you guys think I might need, let me know so I can get it too and get everything done at once. I just want something complete and safe, ride is a DD that I drive my family around in, so I don't want to cheap out on anything. Me and my brother can install everything, I just want everything done right instead of "hoping for the best". I'm also hoping to maybe take it on a AZ rock trail once this is all done just to test it out, even though that's not my normal setting.

I was talked into OME Heavy coils since I had a full steel bumper with winch. Got close to 3.5", and a veerrryy stiff ride. You will want caster correction !! (assuming you do end up as tall as I assume you will...)

The options are cam bolts, drop brackets, longer/shorter 'fixed' control arms, adjustable control arms. They have varying prices and opinions/preferences, so research it before just jumping on the lowest price.

Front trackbar was a good call for those coils. You have a rear 'raised' trackbar bracket? (to also correct the roll center). Or just one that centers the axle?

The other thing to check is the bumpstops. Flex it out after the lift and make sure the tires aren't going to go up enough to rip a flare off, and that the shocks do not over-compress.

Also, depending on how the steering feels, you'll probably be in the range to start considering a draglink flip.

And it would be a real good idea while you are flexing it and checking the flares and shocks, to crawl underneath and check the front driveshaft clearance.

Oh, swaybar links. You want both swaybars to remain roughly parallel to the ground. Fairly common to get longer rear links, then move the stock rear links up front. Or just replace the fronts with disconnects. But just some friendly advice, I would recommend that you be real careful flexing it out with short front links and those longer shocks!!

Disagree, adjustable front track bar is a must! With a lift, it's the most common cause of death wobble with JKs
