Question Lift Kit Install Questions.

I'm new to All things off-road. What i have learned about lift is i want a suspension one and what is necessary to have one through this site. So listed below are some links..
My question, to all the helpful jk unlimited owners out there, what am i doing wrong, if anything. I know eBay parts maybe a little sketchy but doesn't hurt to give it a try!

Is this a good buy?
If not what about this one?

I would not buy the Ebay suspension kit because it's always shady and poor quality.

I would go with the Full-Traction SRS suspension because their suspension kits are made in the USA, top notch quality, and excellent customer service.

That Ebay kit is a Rough County lift and you can buy it directly from them for the same price. Before you go with a 4" lift you might include what size tires you're going to run and how you will use your Jeep. Hard core off roader , daily driver etc.

Lots of people find a 2.5 to 3" lift is plenty for running 35" tires and less additional issues to deal with.

Check out Northridge4x4.com they are a sponsor and will not steer you wrong. Also I'd suggest you look at Teraflex lifts. Great quality and ride on my Unlimited.

There are plenty of reputable dealers on ebay - that is why they have customer feedback, so you can see how long the seller has been in business, and how many transactions they have made.

Some sellers on ebay have their products directly shipped from the manufactuers wharehouse, they simply act as a middle-man between you and the manufactuer.

I would not expect any kind of service after the sell from a dealer on ebay - That is not always a bad thing, but it depends on what type of product you are buying.

Even if you plan on doing the install yourself, you will need to take your Jeep somewhere to get it alligned after the lift is installed. You may want to visit that shop first to get some feedback about what types of lifts they have worked with and any problems that they encouter with various types of aftermarket products.

Lifting your Jeep should be based on what type of performance you want. No need on dropping $3K on a full long arm suspension if you are just lifting for appearance, and vice-a-versa, budget lifts are not going to give you the full range of off-road capability.

Decide what you want to do with your Jeep, and then pick your lift kit. I personally plan on purchasing mine from a local 4x4 shop and letting them install it. I want to be able to have some service after the sale if needed, which would be hard to do with a kit bought from ebay.

Worst case scenario is that you get something that doesn't meet all of your expectations, and you end up changing it down the road--there are plenty of stories like that on this forum.

Good luck and happy wheeling

If you have any questions please ask or give us a call. We just finished another run of these kits, they'll be ready to ship tomorrow.
