Default Lift Kit Noise and Spring Retainers

Does the Teraflex kit make a lot of noise? (You are going to laugh at me once you hear this ... I am deaf!) Seriousy I am deaf but my concern comes from the quality of ride of my passengers. I want other people to enjoy riding in my jeep and if I want to know if it squeaks etc? I just want to know what im paying for ya know.

What about the coils banging when they come off the seats at full flex and landing. I was thinking of adding spring retainers so that they never unseat. This is okay with me because i mostly drive on the road. If they only unseat offroad then no biggie but if they do going over railroad tracks then i would like to consider retaining them?

Thanks a bunch!

Erik

Actually no. The modular flex joints are greasable style with a metal ball inside 2 bushings. So no metal on metal contact like a heim joint. Plus they are rebuildable. TeraFlex has spring retainers for the rear. What kit are you thinking about?

Im going big and bad. Im trying to talk myself out of a 6 inch LA kit (due to out of geometries, driveability, safety etc) and stick with a 4.5 LA kit. I think a 6 inch kit with 37 tires on a snowy road would scare me too much (canada)! Id rather stay down a bit low for the corrners and stuff. So the 4.5 is what im going with.

Any comments about the spring retainers Joe?

Here's a pic of the rear spring retainers being installed. The 4" will look great with 37's.

naw, the teraflex kit is pretty damn quite and your passengers will be happy with it. BTW, are you familiar with member rampage?

I just put on the Teraflex 4" and 37's a couple weeks ago. Have to get used to climbing in at the increased height, but the ride is smooth and quiet, and very stable feeling. The wider track width due to the wheel backspacing helps compensate for the raised CG I think.

Yeah a friend of mine has this lift here in VA. its VERY nice...I tried to help him track down a minor squeak noise that we can' seem to locate, but it works very nice. The Teraflex front trackbar is freaking insanely beefy. Wow....

I can see why people really like the Teraflex stuff...it shows.

Thanks Lemontwist and everyone else. Im going with MTR's too! I love the stance of your jeep and this is exactly what i want. I think 6" would be too much.

JeepDog hopefully you find that squeak! lol im sure its not that big of a deal.

Teraflex 4" LA and trying to talk myself out of the 6" upgrade.

No noise. If the joints arent properly centered you can get a little noise from the rubbing, hope that makes sense without a picture. Just center it and no more squeeks.

You will not be let down by this lift in anyway. It is excellent, and a very nice company worthy of getting peoples business.
