Lift Kit question "how big?"
Ok... with the new technologyin the JK , i have a few questions:
How much of a lift can be done before there are requirments for part replacement/modifications? like driveshaft, steering etc..
also, is a body or suspension lift better to accomidate new tires?
I have a Sahara Unlimited (32' stock A/Ts) and was looking for 33's or 35's .... but didnt know if a 3" lift would accomdate 35's or not?
lastley, with a 3" lift and going up 3" in tire size, will i still fit in my underground parking.... as i have 6-7" of clearance stock.... not to mention my 6yr old will meed a stool to get in if it goes more that 2" up at the side step height.
Sorry for all the questions and if they have been asked already...... did search... but didnt find enough percise information.
Thanx in advance

You can lift 2" without having to make any modifications, and can run 33's, actually can run 35's if you really want to i believe but 33's recommended. I believe 2.5'' you have to start making a few other mods like rear adjustable track bar, brake line extension brackets, i dont know if its required, but longer sway bar links is also recommended i believe. there is a thread on here that list what all mods you have to make for each lift height, and I myself was looking for the thread yesterday, but havent been able to find it. There are alot more jeepers on here that know alot more about this than I, but thats my 2 cents.
A 2.5" will clear 35's, and won't require driveline mods.
Once you get over about 3" you will be stressing the front drive shaft (rear also on a 2dr, but the unlimited can go up another inch or so).
The Teraflex budget boost is nice because it comes with some extras that others don't, like sway bar links and brake line brackets.
You could throw 33's under there without any lift, if you aren't really taking off road.

Something to remember with the total hieght of the jeep, when adding 3" taller tire, you are only adding half that to the actual hieght. Your are asking good questions but I think you still need to ask yourself what you plan on doing with the jeep, what are you trying to acomplish out of lifting it. Pure looks, Performance, if you stop and answer those questions you will make a better decision now and avoid having to redo it when you find out whatever you choose doesnt really fit what you want it to do.

Thanx for all the fast replies...

I am looking to wheel again ...just mud and trail , no rocks..... so i think i will stick to the suggested setups.
you can put the TF 2.5" and it will be able to get the 35's under it. with no drive line modifications. just remenber that you will need the correct back spaceing to run 33's or 35's. this is more critical with 35's. i had 35's under mine when i was 100% stock no lift with a back spacing of 3.75. but you can not wheel like that. hope this helps.
