Lift Kit Stock tires
I have the small stock tires on my jeep, i cannot aford new tires and a new lift kit. If i put a 2 - 4 inch lift kit, would it work, and would it look stupid, i havent seen any images like that.
It depends... if you have the 225/75R16 tires on the steel wheels, then a lift might make them look small and the Jeep look tipsy. If you have the 17" rims and tires, they look ok with a 2" lift. A 4" will leave way too much air in the wheel wells for my tastes.
Just my opinion but I would put the money for the lift in a jar and bury out in the yard until you've saved for the tires - do it at the same time. From the hundreds of photos I've seen on this board of before/after (some with lift before tires), the Jeep just looks odd with a 2.5 to 4 inch lift with stock tires. Not so much with the Rubicon wheels if that's what you have. I don't think it would look stupid, as you put it, and if it's for a short amount of time and works best for you, sure who cares do it. If it was me, I'd just wait.
I'm in a similar situation as you - want the lift and the tires. I've only got 1300 miles on mine so I'll have to wait and wear down my stockers in order to justify it with the boss (wife).

I am running TF 2.5'' coils with shocks and I have stock 09 rubi tires...
It looks a little bit roomy in the wells but its not bad at all... I am dying to get 35's on her right now but I could easily drive around on the stocks all day and night with no issues and people all think it looks good (at least they tell me that hahaha)
Does it look a little off, to someone that wants bigger wheels/tires or that knows 4x4 stuff... sure....
Does it look bad? Nahhh not bad...

That is my plan. 2" OME lift, wheel spacers and Stock 32" tall tires. Besides money my concern is to ensure I get 2" and not 4". So I will get light or medium duty springs instead of the HD that most people order. I guess to keep costs down I could do a BB and get exactly the lift of the spacer...
