Default Lift kit thoughts

Jeep newbie here, been reading a lot about lift kits and pretty much have narrowed it down to a RK or Teraflex (with rancho900xl shocks) 2" or 3" coil lift kit for my Stock JKU. I am on a high-school kid's budget but I want to get this done right the first time. I look forward to hearing any thoughts/advice on those lift kits. I Also have heard of people getting 2" coil lift kits with 1" body spacers, how does that make any difference?

Check out the "My thoughts in lifts" thread by dirtman. Then answer on here how you intend to use your jeep and why you want or need said lift. I've had teraflex and now run RK. I find RK a little smoother and a little better ride on road.

Yep, start with the threads stuck to the top of this modified area and get a better idea of what the various components actually do.

A coil lift has new, taller, coils.
A budget boost is spacers that go on top of the stock coils.
A body lift is spacers that go on all of the body mounts and lift only the body higher.

The first two lift the frame up to increase clearance under the belly. The body lift only lifts the body up off the frame to give some extra clearance for bigger tires.
