Default Lift Kit Warranty's

I have a stock 2011 Rubicon 4 door standard. Have been trying to decide on initial modifications by going thru the threads on this great site. I have decided that I am going with a roughly 4 inch lift. I am going with 37 inch Procomp MT's, RR front and back bumpers and carrier, winch, etc. I was comparing the AEV, Skyjacker and BDS lifts. I favored the AEV until I asked what the warranty was. I was told it was lifetime on the hard parts on Skyjacker and BDS, and only 12 months on the AEV. I would understand if the AEV was sold as an economy lift. But I don't see how it can be sold as a superior lift system while having an inferior warranty by comparison. Am I being unfair in this?

Regards,
Stephen B.

all you get with the aev kit are coils, shocks and a bunch of over priced brackets and honestly, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with them. certainly, they'll most likely outlast any product made by skyjacker and it'll definitely offer a much better ride. as far as bds goes, there are a lot of people here who swear by them but my personal experience with their products is limited to TJ stuff only and it was okay. do you plan on wheeling your jeep?

The wheeling I would do would likely be considered "mild" by a lot on this site. Some offroading for sure, but just with the local clubs. It is a daily drive, about 30 miles a day round trip.

well, if you aren't planning on playing on any rocks and these are your only 3 choices, i would probably go with the aev kit. it is pricey for what you get and it may not have the warranty that the other offer but, it will provide a better ride and really, i have a hard time thinking you'll ever need to get it warranteed.

you need to look at Rockkrawlers site. Their quality is awesome and their customer service is unbeatable. And no I do not work for RK but have a good amount of experience through 3 JK's and have never had 1 issue with them.

X2 on Rock Krawler, Adjustable lower control arms (not drop brackets like AEV), life time warranty on all hard parts, and very very great quality parts! the will even give you 10% off for mentioning the JK Forum! I have the 3.5 mid arm flex and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! great people!!!

Based on that information, I think you're nuts for wanting a 4" lift and 37's. You'd be much better off with 2" and 33's.

Thats what I did, and now, I regret my choice, I went with 33s because its my dd and I do mild off-road once a month, but now I want 35s and maybe 37s for the look.

If you are not sure between 2 size, choose the bigger

4'' is a lot for a dd, you should go with 2.5''-3'' and flat flares it will clear 37s with extended bumpstop, it will have better on-road manners, and less costly.
