You may have issues with the new exhaust routing in the 2012s.

AEV lifts are very well engineered and sorted out. The exhaust issue is interesting - some people with this lift claim there isn't a problem with the exhaust. The only other issue I have heard about is people trying to run wheels with the wrong offset (backspacing). If you stick with AEV wheels, there are no issues. Enjoy!
WoW and I thought installing a lift kit was just buy and fix , this 2012 jk is irritating can't get mods , can't do much to the engine , should've stuck to 2011 and did a hemi swap .....

Here's the deal. The AEV lift will work fine on road. The new exhaust cross over is closer to the front driveshaft than previous years. So off road with the front sway bar disconnected the axle can drop enough that the drive shaft will contact the crossover. Teraflex makes a simple spacer that helps solve this, but the best route is a new driveshft, sice it is a smaller diameter. This problem, especially with lifts over 2.5" is EXTREAMLY COMMON. if fact, I just messed up my front shaft at three inches if lift.
In terms of wheels and fitting after the lift. You will need spacers if you run stock wheels, this is because of the new sway bar position. It will contact your tire sidewall due to the fact that the sway bar bolt is not tucked in the wheel anymore. You need to move the wheel away from the sway bar to prevent rubbing. This also has been common si ce the start of the JK.
To your comment on the hemi. Conversion kits cost 3-5k. Motor costs 6-10k your looking at huge costs for install, then if you can't do it for yourself, your looking to pay an installer. The 3.8 is not as bad as everyone claims. It's more than capable offroad, which is what these are designed for. The new 3.6 is a VERY capable motor. I have been very impress with it's on road drivability, and I'm sure off road is even more remarkable.
The short of it, manufacturers are doing their best. It's very difficult to r&d a quality product. Great point is superchips, who still hasn't broken the code on the 2011, so forget the 2012. Acceptable products will come. Happy modding
