Default Lift problems....

I installed my teraflex 2.5" lift yesterday and now I have a light on in my dash that said ESP BAS. The esp light is also on. Anytime I go around a bumpy right hand turn the esp and anti lock brakes start acting up. Anyone else had this problem? The brake lines or ESP lines are fine.

you need to recenter your stearing wheel. it is very easy to do two bolts and twist a little at a time till you get it right. if you are off just a little it will go off. you will be fine after you do this. if you got a procal to change your tire size it will also make centering the stearing wheel a one man job.

Be careful when driving around with that light on - in fact, dont. Your ESP will kick on at random times. Very unsafe.

I was able to simply pull the fuse to disable it. I'd get it re-aligned immediately.

You could just push in and hold the ESP disable button for five seconds or so. It's function changes when you hold it in for a longer time. It doesn't fully disable ESP, but it will take care of anything that might cause unexpected braking of the vehicle.

I've never had a problem recentering my steering wheel by myself--you just have to run around a little more. LOL.

Like everyone said its steering wheel is off center. The sensor on your jk thinks you're spinning or skidding out of control and is trying to correct it self. Watch out when driving it until it is fixed. I almost wrecked mine the first day I installed my lift because I had no idea what the esp light meant . But I found out rather quickly that it meant something other than drive faster.

Takes five minutes to recenter the steering wheel.

Wow, is this a common problem with doin' 2.5 lifts? I'm thinking about lifting my JK but I damn sure don't want to screw it up. Is fixing the steering wheel an easy fix?
