Default Lift recomendations ?

I'm looking for some suggestions on a lift for my new X 4door. I'm finding problems with the breakover clearance on moderate crests at the top of hills and other obstacles. I had thought I would do a budget 2" lift at the springs (just for the heck of it) but I'm afraid I may need more. I have 31" BFG's and would prefer to stay with them due to not wanting to change gearing. (at least not now). I believe that I can live with the diff height (10"). I have ordered Shrockworks rock rails and a stubby winch bumper (not yet delivered) so addititonal weight will be added to the vehcle. This is also my daily driver so I have to be careful about affecting the road handling too much. I'm not too savy when it comes to lifts and their overall effects . Thanx.

I'd stay away from the BB lifts. I like my terraflex 3" however your tires will look a little small. when your tires wear out go with 33's

Default Thanx for the ideas.

Thanks to all of you for your responces. To answer a question, it's an automatic. I imediately ran out and bought the BFG 31's (they fit the stock rims) knowing I would be in deep trouble with the stock road tires. Economically I will be keeping them for a while. I have a friend who has been running 31's on his Grand for some time with a 4" + lift. He does extremely well and they dont look too wierd in the wells so I'm not concerned about "look" at this point. Anyone have any experience with Rubicon Express, Rancho or Full traction kits ?. My local shop has mentioned them.

What I have noticed is that lifts on JK's are completely different than other vehicles. I talk to plenty of my buddys with trucks about lifts, and they are all talking about 4-6" kits to run 35's and I'm saying how I want to run a 3" lift with 35's and they think I'm crazy. I've seen a forum member run 36's with no lift(lots of rubbing though).

This is what I have noticed

2.5"-3"= 35's
4"= 37's
6"= 40's(this is HUGE)

33's look big on a lot of Cherokees, but IMO, 35's on a 4 door JK looks perfect

I notice most don't recommend the RE BB with the monotube shocks. Is this due to the fact that it's spendy for what they supply? I have read that you need to install and then adjust the track bar and read you don't on BB lifts? I'm looking for the cleanest BB to install on a '08 4 door Rubicon and cost isn't the main factor. Suggestions?

Thanks

x3 for OME. If cost isn't a main factor, why go with a BB? Do it right the 1st time.

I started with a BB and had zero intentions on upgrading. Within 2 months I upgraded to OME. I guess the Jeep voices in my head got their way, but I couldn't be happier.

The Jeep was purchased to be towed, ride and bumper/tow bar height is a concern. Also the wife may drive it in the winter snow as the grocery getter and doesn't want to have to go climbing to get in and out.
