Default Lift Recommendations Needed

For the past 3 years I have been running 35" KM2s with a 2" Black Diamond BB and a 1" M.O.R.E. BL and it suited all of my needs. I recently installed an AEV tire carrier and had to lose the 1" BL. This put me back to square one with my suspension. I'm looking for 3-4" of lift. This is a 2DR JK that I drive daily. It will see little, if any rock climbing. It will see occasional trails, but nothing major as I can't afford to break my only vehicle. I keep looking at the AEV 3.5" ST suspension as I have always been pleased with AEV products I have their hood, Pintler wheels, procal, and tire carrier. The only item I think I could use in addition to this kit is an adjustable front track bar. I also like the idea of being able to install the kit and not need any alignments other than centering the steering wheel. Please make other suspension recommendations based on personal experience with lifts. I'm looking for a voice of reason as I keep piecing together $2K+ lifts with adjustable this and that, which I know I don't need since I got by with only a BB and BL for the past three years. Thanks for the help.

Below is my wish lists for the suspension kit.

- Quality, quality, quality, I don't like spending my money on junk
- Must be low maintenance (Few or no joints that require frequent lubrication), or items like heim joints that will rust, wear easily, or are noisy
- Use of OEM bushings for ease of repair
- Front/Rear axles centered under vehicle
- Proper alignment easlily achieved/maintained as this is a daily driver

I'm right in the middle of installing a Rough Country 3.5 inch Series II lift kit for my 2dr DD JK. I've researched it quite a bit and found that it has all the necessary parts needed for a good lift. Even some more expensive kits like Teraflex or Rock Krawler don't offer all the adjustment features like track bar relocation, bump stops, brakeline extensions, steering compensation or etc. and still charge $1000 or more for their kits. For $500, the RC kit comes with track bar relocations, new longer front lower control arm, drop pitman arm for steering, steeering stabilizer flip, front and rear bumpstops, coils and even extended shocks.

I was very impressed how complete the kit was right out of the box. Granted, it's not adjustable so that might be something I upgrade later if I wanted to fine tune my ride. I'm not sure what to expect from the shocks, however - been reading mixed reviews from them being better than stock all the way to them being rough rides. Not sure what the real story is.

The way I figure it, I spend $500 now and get a very complete lift package and if needed I can switch out the shocks for better ones, and if I'm really anal, go to adjustable arms too. But for the price it's very hard to beat what you're getting.

I'll post results and pics once the install is done. I'm right outside my 4x4 shop getting that, along with gears, gussets, sleeves and new DS's installed.

Good luck with your search. Hey, at least I gave you one data point

you can't go wrong with Rock Krawler. I have the 2.5" lift and it netted me a little over 4". Great product and very easy to install
