Default The lift that is right for me

Its time for me to get down to brass tax here. My JKU will be primarily used for daily road driving. I want a rig that will handle the worst of snow storms, the beach, and trail riding. I am NOT going to go Rock Crawling. I demand the same on the road comfort or making it better. I dont want to lift the jeep and be uncomfortable in it.

This being said, I want 35 inch tires and know I need at least 3 in of height.
I have asked the vendors on this board a million questions and they have great in their answers about their products.

In light of my needs,
1) DO I need a system that comes with 8 COntrol Arms? These Systems run between 1600 - 2000 and dont come with skocks.
2) AEV's marketing has me thinking their 3.5in SC lift offers the best ride comfort. (Im a sucker for good marketing) THis comes with SHocks but doesnt use control arms.
3) Would a 3" budget boost system get me where I want to be? These are CHEAP!

RIght now Im looking at the Rock Crawler X Facter, The Full Traction Ultimate, and the AEV SC. After spending tons of money on wheels, another soon to be ton on tires, I would really like to save some money on the lift if possible.

A Rock Krawler 2.5 Stock Mod lift or even the 2.5 Flex kit would suffice. I've got the Flex on my dd and it drives fine.

You can run 35s with 2.5" of lift. This will open your options up a bit. No you don't need all 8 control arms but they do help adjust things back to normal for a better ride. Look at the teraflex 2.5 with shocks also. All of the lifts you are looking at are great lifts and will provide a good on road ride and perform well offroad. My personal favorite is rock krawler, seems like the most complete kit to me. Hope this helps.

I have the AEV 2.5 which will fit 35 in tires. I run 33's. I also have the geometry correction brackets and have done the 9/16 bolt mod. The ride is better than stock, firm but very comfortable.

Echo, THanks, Ill look into those two. I have not taken delivery of my rig yet otherwise id take a look but does the rubicon come with 8 Control Arms from the factory? Do these budget boost leverage the existing control arms?

The difference between a 4.75 and a 5bs is 6 millimeters. About half of centimeter! I think I can squeeze it in without rubbing in the front and back. I cant wait to put it all together so I can report the results. There was a thread on here recently where a member took pictures of his 12.5 inch wide tires with a 4.75 wheel BS (i think) . There appeared to be tons of room. If Im wrong, Ill add spacers.

Im no pro but how is 3.75 INCH of BS and 5.0 INCH of BS only 6 Millimeters diffrence?? I came up with 7.65mm Anyways minor diffrences when it comes to fittment WILL make a big diffrence. Also I sugest you look inot RC 2.5 coil kit. You can get a way more complete kit for cheaper than a budget boost. I got mine with adj front track bar, rear track bar bracket, and single SS for cheaper than a bone stock TF kit. You gotta ask yourself are the other brands coils really that much better??? (the answer is NO) plus RC has a lifetime waranty on its coils not sagging so it's a win win

For an 18x9 wheel
4.5 BS = -12mm offset
4.75BS = -6mm offset
5 BS = 0 offset.
Mathematically the numbers may be slightly off from what I have above but the manufacturers always market them with those numbers.

Ill check out the RC2.5 coil kit. THanks man!

Yet again I am no pro but I really dont think BS and offset are related. You should do some google research but I believe those are two diffrent measurements. Well good luck on the lift kit I really believe in RC and think you will find some great deals
